History and past performance
2008 examination
Wee Yen Jean from Nanyang Primary School is a top PSLE student in Singapore. She obtained a remarkable score of 287.
2007 examination
Natasha Nabila from St Hilda's Primary School obtained a score of 294, the highest aggregate score in the history of the PSLE scoring system in 14 years.
1998 examination
Prikhshat Pal Singh from Haig Boys' School obtained a score of 289, the highest aggregate score before the current revision of the PSLE scoring system.
Performance
In 2005, 51,087 pupils sat for the examination, a 0.4% increase from the previous year. The majority (or 97.8%) of the pupils qualified for secondary school. 62.2% of those who passed were eligible for the Special/Express course and the remaining 35.6% were eligible for either the Normal (Academic) or Normal (Technical) courses. 1133 pupils (2.2%) of the cohort assessed was not ready for secondary school in 2006 or are more suited for vocational training. The top student of 2005 was Adil Hakeem B Mohamad Rafee from Rosyth School who scored 282.
